Fire Retardant Brominated Epoxy Coating

Fire retardant brominated epoxy coating is a specialized protective coating designed to improve the fire resistance of surfaces while providing the excellent mechanical and chemical properties associated with epoxy systems. It is commonly used in industrial, construction, electrical, marine, and infrastructure applications where both surface protection and fire safety are important.

The coating is based on epoxy resin modified with brominated compounds. Bromine-containing components help interrupt the combustion process when the coating is exposed to high temperatures or flame. Depending on its formulation, the coating can reduce flame spread, delay ignition, and contribute to the formation of a protective char layer. This provides additional time for fire detection, evacuation, and firefighting, while helping protect the underlying substrate.
